Medicines alone will not reduce your blood sugar level. Sugar must be avoided in your diet. The quantity of carbohydrate should also be reduced. Eat less food, more times in a day.

You should walk for 30 minutes daily. (briskly).

Welcome to the group Joy. First few thing that we learn from this group are:

Medicine is not the first line of treatment of D. The first and foremost is food- a low carb food regime that you have to evolve for yourself over a period time. Second is lifestyle. Small workouts to burn calories and losing wright. Medicine comes as a third line line of battle. If the first two do not control your glucose level effectively, then consider minimum medication

preferably metformin. Problem with drug is you become complecent and take liberties with food and excercise. Medicine alone- and you move fast on progression. Doctors generally do not insist on food and excetcise lines. Obviously, because this will not help drug industry. After all they are driven by the mefical reps. Common refrain from doctors "ok take your normal food, but take but take medicines in time. Normal food - read high carb food. This way your glucose level and medinine doses keep going up and finally you end up in insulin.. When maximum insulin is reached you are at the roads end. So harp on diet and workpout and try to cut fown and leave fdrugs for good.

Essential things. Have a glucometer at home and check regulatly at leat 2-3 times week for fbs and ppbs. Check A1C, ppbs and fbs every three months in a lab. Compare and calibrate your glucometer every three months with lab test data. Have a balance at home and work on the carb content of the food you take. Keep the total intake 100 to 140 g per day. Keep adding/removing /increasing/decreasing items depending on how it imacts your ppbs.

Over a period of time you will get a food regime for you. Keep off sugar, sugar substitues, jaggery, honey, potato and other starchy tubers.

Rice, chapathi, bread all are high carb staples. Keep minimum. Avoid all bakeru items and fast food.

Keep faith in your bodies ability to cope with the condition. Your insulin is insufficeient. So take less carb so that you reduce stress on beta cells.

Good luck. Your aim should be no medicine or least medicines. All meficines come with a baggage of side effects. Cheers. Sugu
