In my last post I tried to highlight a beliefs not based on evidence can be discounted. I’ve had some pushback, so would like to clarify my position so no-one is under any misapprehension.
Most people subscribing to to this forum are type 2 diabetic and are looking for support and advice. I see that as my job, having studied extensively the link between diet and health and found the current advice not only is woefully outdated, but is killing millions. I use my time freely to disseminate information I feel will be helpful to people with T2 live a life as normal as they choose by changing a diet that has brought them to this site in the first place.
Should you choose to throw into the mix, and follow, traditional remedies entrenched in your culture, that is up to you. However, expect short shrift from me if you expect to be taken seriously. Unless you can back up the claims of these unproven modalities with hard science then your beliefs are based on nothing more than faith, and faith is described as:
‘Belief in the absence of evidence’.
Also:
‘Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence’ (Carl Sagan)
‘What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.’ (Christopher Hitchens).
Remember, you are here because of your lifestyle, and that can be changed, but please don’t waste my time by with superstition when your blood markers are wildly out of kilter. If you would rather look to a nonsense pill or unproven philosophy than do the work required to stabilise or reverse your condition i.e. if you aren’t willing to change your lifestyle, then your future is bleak!
In conclusion you might like to bear in mind there is another definition of faith:
‘Belief in action’.
