The latest meters give out readings after correcting the difference between the finger prick sample and lab sample. Please read the pamphlet supplied with the meter. However,to be on safe side, next time you give a lab sample, take a reading with the meter also simultaneously,to establish the variance.

Glucometer value is =10 % more than laboratory test report To controlingDM u shouldstick on with glucometer reading Forconsatation Doctors required lab report only But most of Good Doctors not considered the FBSand PPBS value since FBS value depend what u consume and quality it depends on previous night only And PPBS value depend upon how much what food u consume and quantity only so it is not accurarate So Doctors considered HBA@C report only It is the value of blood sugar level in our body for3 moths average at all time.

For your daily or weekly reference u must stick on glucometer reADING AND IF U GO TO LAB EVERY 3OR 4MONTHSONCE THEN TEST fbs ANDppbs AND hbacALSO IT MAY HELPS U AND ALSO IF U GO TO CONSULTATION WITH dOCTOR

Technically there is no difference in readings but glucometers are not accurate as lab readings. They have variations. Meters should be used as a guideline

It would be better to re-calibrate your glucometer. 30% is just too much difference.

Also regarding your remarks on HBA1C test, if a person has had consistent hypoglycemia in the last 3-4 months, even this reading may not show the correct picture. So regular checking at home using a glucometer surely helps!

Check with authorized vendors.

HBA!C is accurate when tested within 3 months any person on any kind of infection or diseases like fever typhoid or any reason body infected HBA!C is different no. obtained

Gluco meter no varies 10 % higher above It is tested my self . Even laboratory do u sure the reading may accurate .

one laboratory test my potassium no. varies too much difference I am upset for this But Doctor tested other reports and ECG and he clearly says that it s lab mistake . However u keep in mind up to another test of electrolytes potassium content food consume some small quantity . So totaly all tests given number is always not accurate We must believe.

If u test FBS from Your house and same time li lab also u may get your gluco meter difference similarly for PPBS Then decide yourself how much your glucometer shows and next maintain the figures

Just change the meter.30% is too much. Accucheck and Onetouch are much more accurate.

Dear Mahdu

There will always be a difference between glucometer and lab. As I was told gluco meter uses blood for glucose level, labs results are based on serum. In my case when tested before giving sample out side the lab on two occasions the difference was 20 units less than meter. Keeping this in mind you can use the meter for control of sugar.

Glucometer reading may have about a small percentage error. May be about 5 per cent.

Glucometer tests on whole blood. Lab tests on blood plasma. Reading in plasma will be more than that in meter.

This is what I observed. Other members may comment whether I am correct or not.
