Can any one define what is high fat? What is low carbohydrate ?
I'm sorry for the late reply. The first two response refers to web sites diabetes.co.uk and other is not open to non members. I'm Surprised that protagonist and followers of lchf did not or could not come up with any plausible explanation . So they are only preachers and followers without even understanding what they are preaching or following . As you have always said there should always be understanding of what one is saying or one is following.
I'm not criticising any diet, but only saying that it your body, your health, the most precious asset you ever wish to have,so please be very careful of what you do before it is too late and you reach a point of no return. Please remember, diabetes, blood sugar regulation and nutritional science, all are still evolving and many researches come to conclusions contradicting and / or supporting others findings. So please be very cautious and do not be carried away by different claims . These claimants may have their own interest like selling their books etc, etc.

I would like to say something here, from my own experience. I have yet to check my A1c after going on emmer wheat, but changing the type of carbs I consume has made a great difference in my blood glucose figures.
First, I stopped rice and used millets and next I replaced wheat with long wheat. I eat white bread as a luxury and then only one slice with butter, cheese and an egg to fill me up and delay glucose release. Same when I eat rice at functions. I add some curries or chicken and at parties everything is full of fats.
I do some strength training with light weights.
I eat one or two helpings of fruit.papaya, and if possible, under ripe plantain, sometimes half an orange or Apple.
I drink Amla or fresh lime juice on most days.
I eat a small chocolate or candy after lunch.
In fact, by cutting out some carbs and reducing some, I am able to enjoy everything within limits.
I have realised that I was eating too much before. I was not fat or even plump, but I used to eat salt biscuits thinking that it is OK. Actually it is the flour in the biscuits that is worse than the little bit of sugar in it.
I still think that I might be able to come off medication because I see improvement in the way my body handles glucose. I do not believe that pancreas just dies because the New Castle research proved that it became functional again.
One important change that I have made is bringing back butter into my life on the rare occasions I eat bread, using eggs at least thrice a week, and Virgin coconut oil without fear, shame or guilt. The emotional release in being able to eat all the foods I love, is great. Discipline and balance is what diabetes has brought into my life.
Will check A1c and lipids in December. No statins, only occasional cinnamon and now Amla
Thank you
