Virgin coconut oil
One day, the researchers say coconut oil is bad for you, the next day someone else shows up with contradictory information.
Instead of fretting over these, I think some tips from Dr. Ronesh Sinha in his book "The South Asian Challenge" make sense. His Six-Pack that you should aim for are:
1) Waist below 90 cm/35 inches for men (80 cm/31 for women)
2) Triglycerides at or below 100 mg/dl (1.13mmol/L)
3) HDL >40mg/1.13mmol for men (>50 mg/1.29 for women)
4) BP systolic (top) 120 or below and diastolic 80 or below.
5) Fasting sugar <100 (5.6 mmol), HbA1C <5.7%
6) hs-CRP <1.0mg/dL
(Also Triglycerides: HDL ratio <3.0)
Yes, it is good. Lot of info is available on this subject in google.
So far used 1000 ml of VCO with black coffee early in the morning. HbA1C is reduced to 5.8 from 6.2.Total cholesterol reduced to 210.5 from 252. LDL reduction to 144.68 from 182. But no change in HDL. Continuing with VCO. The gap between tests are 4 months.
Triglycerides down to 78.6 from 105. Not taking STATIN drugs. Stopped 4 months before.
