He is experiencing diabetic neuropathy . Vit B12 is more than normal range. But he is vit. D deficient. At his age bringing down Hba1c is rather difficult. Vit. D supplement is necessary.
His HbAC/1 for his age is quite ok For numbness and burning sensation consult your family physician who will advise medicines.
Without lowering sugar, walking and exercise is not going to help.In his case age is the main hurdle.
Agreed but not for everyone because it depends on what food the person has eaten, how much insulin his body is able to release. I have seen many people who daily walk for 4-5 km and don't find much difference in their BS. It is mainly because they follow conventional high carb diet. People with very high BS are not recommended exercise (more than 250). In such cases more sugar gets released.
