I can understand how anxious you are. I use the ACCU-CHEK Active. Set the Glucometer at 4 or 5 not at 1. The higher the setting lesser the pain.

Checking Diabetes through Glucometers may be higher and it also differs company to company. Glucometers are for emergencies. It is advised to have regular check up of your blood Sugar levels in a good pathology laboratory at regular intervals and consult your doctor accordingly . Please do not miss follow up visit as advised by your doctor because once you start taking medicines your sugar levels may reduce or otherwise. So that your doctor may decide to review the dosage of drugs prescribed earlier.

Present day Glucometers are reasonably accurate. Once a 3 month check is still necessary when you feel that yr sugar level is not under control. Accucheck and Ultra 2 (both I have) are very good,. Ensure that the strips are not exposed and are used within the expiry date.

When you are in the process of adjusting the medication, iut will be good to check fasting, PBS afterBreakfast and PBS after Lunch and also PBS after Dinner after taking the prescribed medication..... This will give you the indication of where you have to correct.
