The Ramadan fasting is around the corner. as the fasting is a religious ritual all Muslims will go for fasting including diabetic ones .For diabetic patients, the entire diet system is going to get changed in the coming month of Ramadan fasting. So what will be the treatment plan the patients are going to resort to?
1.Continue the medication as such in the same dose?
2.Reduce the morning medication as the day time food intake is going to get reduced?
3.Increase the evening dose of medicines and reduce the morning dose?

Ramadan fasting will be Good for the health. I think medicine may not be used for yougsters, as this period will cure and control the sugar and BP. Old aged sugar patients may have to go for reduced dosages. Any way Ramadan period will cure many patients.
During ramdan what is eaten after sunset during fasting period is rather rich in sugar and fat and it will upset both your sugar and lipid profile.
If you are a diabetic on a good diet control, you are already on a partial fast and you can exempt yourself in your own interest .
Try for a change to turn a vegeterain during this period for this ramdan
If somebody is on medication for controlling sugar levels, fasting is not advisable because hypoglycemia may come any time and then he will be forced to break the fast.Best is to talk to the doctor and work out proper medication and diet plan so that he will not suffer hypoglycemia.
I have 19 years old son with type 1 since one year , I did try fasting with him last Ramadan and it did not work as his injunction time, and meals timing effected due to fasting period. his BS gone very high . his doctor recommended him not to fast.
It's true. Especially with T1DM .Doctors usually won't advice a type 1 to take fasting. As the treatment involves frequent small meals and Insulin any missing meal or missing insulin dose may lead on to a serious complication like DKA.
As a diabetic I find any change, even a simple one like travelling to another location to another does bring about a marked change in diabetic conditions, Hence the less change in food intake the better will be; day to day management will be more stable and better will be his health. God in his magnanimity will surely will prescribe some alternative to this fasting. I know from my Muslim friends, that the Muslim religion does provide a means to observe token fast for Ramadan. Yes, a vegetarian diet will be more beneficial, adding extra carbohydrate replacing sweet, oil and animal protein to his meal will be beneficial..
