i want to start insulin as there is resistance to oral medication.i am type2 diabetes for 14 yrs.

Yes you can, in fact it is better to take insulin then gulping chemcial tablets which makes harm to body

I too agree.Insulin has no side effects and now administering is also easy.But be careful about hypoglycemia.Keep some food always at hand.

Leave this decision to your diabetologist who is treating you. diet,exercise,walk and drugs should work in type 2 diabetis, and if it does not work then only Doctors will decide to administer insulin. and they will decide the dosage step by step. So, I strongly advise you against self medication.
