People with DM2 could significantly improve their HbA1c levels by switching to a 24 hour wearable insulin delivery device, research suggests.

The device is the Veritas V-Go, which is worn on the body and continuously administers insulin through the day. It also allows bolus doses to be given for meals without needing to inject.

According to new study those who switched from insulin injections to V Go achieved a reduction in HbA1c of at least 1%.

It addresses the fact that some people of DM2 are not comfortable giving themselves injections.

Is it good to control Hba1c with excess insulin?? Will it save a person from other diabetes related complications???

Blog was more of an information. Nothing to add. Normally lesser HbA1c means better sugar control. Longer the duration of diabetes greater chances of complication.

The elevated sugar is just a symptom. Medications and insulin will control sugar...but they fail to control diabetes...

Even with good sugar control..you will face diabetes complications sooner or later...

Best way is to control insulin spike..lesser insulin spike is best way to avoid diabetes related complications..and also better sugar control.

Excess insulin is dangerous. Consult an Endocrinologist before experimenting.

Is the VGo insulin pump like the Medtronics CGM/pump? Medtronics works with the DEXCOM system because they both use the same sensors.

i think it is useful for those with diabetes 1. For diabetes II it is unnecessary.

Insulin pumps, cartridges, and infusion sets may be far more expensive than syringes used for insulin injection with several insulin pumps costing more than $6,000 (Rs. 3,84,240); necessary supplies can cost over $300. Another disadvantage of insulin pump use is a higher risk of developing diabetic ketoacidosis if the pump malfunctions.
