Hi, if your BS level is normal on weekly basis with regular check up by glucometer means you have brisk life style with good control in your diets which are not permitted for diabetic, i.e., sweets completely, harmful fruits and vegetables. Hence no need to take any medicines on diabetic except general vitamin and nerve strengthening tab. or capsules. BTW : Pls. consult your dr. on this before taking any decision.

If it is normal now,well and good.It does not matter whether you call youself a diabetic or not.Just continue whatever you are doing but keep monitoring.Since you were a diabetic once,extra care is essential

Undergo HbA1c test. HbA1c is a lab test that shows the average level of blood sugar (glucose) over the previous 3 months. It shows how well you are controlling your diabetes.

An HbA1c of 5.6% or less is normal.

The following are the results when the HbA1c is being used to diagnose diabetes:--

* Normal: Less than 5.7%

* Pre-diabetes: 5.7% to 6.4%

* Diabetes: 6.5% or higher

If you have diabetes, you and your doctor or nurse will discuss the correct range for you. For many people the goal is to keep your level at or below 6.5 - 7%.

level is my at resent is 5.4
