I dont think moderate use of tamarind is harmfull or aggrevate diabetics.
Tamarind is not harmful but too much is bad for health
Tamarind one or two pinch mixed in lukewarm milk if consumed in empty stomach is good for blood purification and sugar. Also you can try Dalchini (Cinnamon) which is easily available in market. Get the hard sticks and dry it well on sunlight. Grind to minute powder in a mixy and store it in a dry jar. Mix one forth or below half teaspoon cinnamon powder in mild hot milk and consume it in empty stomach in morning. It is good for controlling sugar and a lot many other diseases including even cancer. You can check the medicinal value of cinnamon in google search for more details. For more than last one year I am taking it regularly after I have seen my fasting sugar 263 at the initial lab testing. After that till now my fasting sugar below 100 and after breakfast (2 hours later) it was below 140. I am controlling my diets, doing exercise regularly and also I used to take 1-2 pegs (30 ml each) 4-5 days in a week. Some times I used to smoke one or two cigarettes also when mood is there. Main thing is that don't take tension, never you give importance to the fact that you are sugar patient. Understand the seriousness and take precautions well and treat it casually as a life long friend, but enjoy every day.... This is my philosophy.
