Diabetic patients should consume foods which have low glycemic index.

Fructose has the lowest glycemic index (GI = 19) of all the natural sugars.

Glucose comes under high glycemic index. Hence the same should be avoided or consume in moderation.

Edible fruits contain fructose. Healthy diet contains fruits and vegetables. Health concerns have been raised about high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which allege contribution to obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes,[33] and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
