Proper diet, correct exercise, right medicine, all put to-gether.

It is better to opt for drugs initially to bring the situation under control. It is very important for a Diabetic patient to understand that he/she cannot digest certain kinds of food anymore and thereby those foods are best avoided. It is impossible to specify one single diet chart for all the diabetics of the world. I don't believe that any University can do it. As you have said the food habits of people differ from place to place and person to person. so it is apt to list down one's food intake pattern and delete whatever is unsuitable for diabetes and increase the items good for diabetes and make one's own diet chart. It is also important to take only moderate quantities of food. Make your own chart and change your lifestyle accordingly.

Do not forget to exercise as it plays a very important role in regulating the metabolism and maintaining proper blood circulation.

If you believe in herbal home remedies, you can try them.

1.Consume two to three walnuts on an empty stomach every morning.

2. Consume two teaspoons of sprouted/non-sprouted fenugreek seeds on an empty stomach.

(Just put them in your mouth and swallow with some water )

3. Grow Tinospora cardifolia (Amruthaballi) creeper in your garden with neem manure. Consume 2-3 fresh matured leaves on an empty stomach.

(This is a famous remedy in South India)

4.Grow Indian periwinkle (Nayantara, nithyakalyani) plant in your garden with organic manure. Consume 2-3 fresh

leaves on an empty stomach. Beware this is a very strong medicine.

5. Oil Pulling goes a long way in curing all diseases including Diabetes especially Diabetes related ailments. This is a

potent detox therapy. View Dr. T. Koteshwara Rao and also Dr. Karasch Oil pulling for details and reviews.

There are many many remedies as such.

Suitable food regimen is mandatory. Make your own diet chart.

One very experienced Ayurvedic physician told me that type 2 Diabetes is nothing but a particular kind of

pancreas/liver toxicity." A toxic liver cannot utilize the insulin produced by the pancreas" is his theory. It is very common in these modern days because we consume lots of toxic foods like packed, processed, homogenized, refined etc. foods. There is at least one kind of preservative/pesticide in every food we consume.People hardly follow detox regimens like the olden days. For eg. consuming 3-4 teaspoons of unrefined castor oil in warm milk on an empty stomach once in a fortnight was a regular practice in India until a few decades ago. ( It is not pleasing to consume castor oil this way. As an alternative you may fill the dosage of oil in empty capsules and swallow with warm milk especially in case of children.) This is a very successful liver detox method. After consuming castor oil only warm water or coffee is to be taken until the oil is fully purged out. No tea, buttermilk or yogurt and the like to be taken. Once in three months de- worming medicine was given the previous night. Nature grows foods suitable to the region according to the seasons. Acknowledge this to stay healthy.

Once we are able to understand and manage our health, drugs can be gradually withdrawn.

@aaryambal,

Thanks for the information.

Most of us ignore the aspect of detox that needs to be done, with the colon at the highest priority followed by the liver and other organs ( including the skin ) .

Thanks

Thanks @medfree,

Coincidentally, just purchased it yesterday.

Any personal experience with "Isaabgol" ?

Thanks

It is beneficial for digestion but consuming it is tricky. As it can't be taken dry, warm water or milk has to be added in proper quantity. Most of the isabgol is soluble fiber. It forms very thick gel. Which is very sticky and for first timer is may be difficult to swallow.

I do take it sometimes.

Yes I have received mail for your reply.

I think they are making changes in their system that may be the reason.

in reply to shrisamarth

Agree with you, that some changes are being made, which perhaps is leading to unexpected behavior.

Realized, I did not get an alert for the reply made by medfree below also.

But now, got an alert for this reply of yours.

It is very beneficial for constipation. It can be taken after mixing with a glass of normal water and also slowly reducing cholesterol and blood glucose level in long term.

Toxins trigger diseases or diseases trigger toxins is a million dollar question. Many drugs are toxic. They are best for short term usage. Healthy lifestyle is the best way to handle this problem. We (our health) are what we eat. We need to take a radical step globally in this matter. Why is the present generation not as healthy as the previous generations? The packaged refined cooking oil we use today is highly toxic due to the chemicals used in the refining process and the preservatives added to extend the shelf life. The oil gets refined of not only the impurities but also the nutrients. The milk we consume is farce. Just think! Fresh milk has a shelf life of hardly 5-6 hrs. But today milk remains un spoilt in a can for two months even without refridgeration! Imagine the quantity of preservatives added. Vegetables are sprinkled with chemicals to extend shelf life. Cooked food is packed with chemical preservatives loaded to remain fresh (?) for 6 months. These are just a few examples. The list is endless. It is high time to take steps about this.

Let us use our own discretion and ignore them. Let us educate ourselves rightly and draw a longer line instead of worrying about what some funded researchers say.

@medfree,

No props. Got a couple of positive responses. Guess it is worth trying.

Am currently in detox mode. :-D
