Possible Insulin Sensitivity?

Can anyone tell me whether having problems when I eat might be a problem with insulin even though my HBA1c is 40 and not diabetic. For 6 mths fairly consistently but going back longer I have pressure/weight in my chest and head when I eat, sometimes with dizziness. Mostly happens in the morning and at lunchtime but not so often at night. I have sub clinical hypothyroidism with antibodies and primary hyperparathyroidism and am gluten free. Doctors seem to think I am neurotic but it has become such a problem that I now dislike eating particularly in the middle of the day as I find I can't do anything. At its worst it is frightening. I am looking at what I eat but there seems to be no consistency. Feel as though I am on an inevitable decline that no-one will help me with even with advice. My blood pressure is steadily increasing too and over the last month have been categorised Stage 1 Hypertensive. I feel as though I am there for doctors benefit and not the other way round.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I do tick a number of boxes. I go for ages/years and put no weight on and wouldn't expect to because I need to eat more, not less (personal trainer of the same opinion). Then bang... just put on 4kg for no reason a few months ago and I need to lose not put on. Most of it on around the middle which hadn't use to be like me at at all. I only have test results for Serum cholesterol 4.6, HDL 1.5, giving a ratio of 3.1. GP hasn't discussed any tests with me. No triglycerides done but doing some myself with Medichecks. I had a DVT about 18mths ago after a fracture and I have complained about patches of inflammation to inner thighs and underarms. Underarms have now changed colour to darker shade which I know is sometimes a skin condition in Diabetes. Due to see my Endo next month who is a little superior and tells me nothing. He is nevertheless a very prominent Endo in the UK.
