Type 2 remission help

Hi

I was diagnosed with T2 6 weeks ago with an HBA1c of 101, I am doing the fast 800 diet of 2 shakes and a 400 cal meal in the evening. What should I be aiming my blood glucose to be? And how long did it take to achieve remission.

Currently my blood sugars are between 4.2 and 6.0 Mmols. I have also lost 9kgs (21 lbs).

Also I have been prescribed Metformin slow release 500 mg morning and evening. And hopefully will come off that soon. I am due my next blood test mid November.

Thanks

hello Devines……. I was on Metformin for about ten years, it lowered my blood sugars to start with, and my blood sugar levels lowered to about 10, which was a good target for me…. I sometimes had a Hypo, with blood sugards below 4, but not very often….. I have today(17/9/24 had my Metformin discontinued completely……nI wish you well with your course of Metformin,

Take care and stay safe.

Thanks for your reply and fantastic that you are no longer taking Metformin as that is my target as well.
