Psychiatrist tomorrow

I saw her for the first time 6 weeks ago. I've been booked for a course of "Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy" starting in October, but this is just a review. I have good days and bad days, I'm having a major problem with procrastination over housework etc. I'm also having major pain problems, and have been on increasing doses of pregabalin for both pain relief and anxiety. I respond better to the older, tricyclic, antidepressants than to the newer ones, so am on nortriptyline - which is also used for pain. At the moment the pain is a nightmare.

When chronic pain sufferers from depression and anxiety, pain cuts through like a knife and if you are worried about tomorrows meeting your pains will most probably be singing their tune, in tenor voice.

All I can suggest is try and take your mind of your worry, I know it is hard although you will feel relief after the appointment. and a light mood should return soon after

At the moment I am the same as you I have unpleasant things pending and they give the one over five problems and our brain cannot cope. Sadly I do not know how you relax, if it is a whisky or an ovaltine, some may listen to heavy metal music, whatever turns you on. That is all I can suggest.

I have an (unconfirmed) stomach ulcer and it flares up really badly when I'm stressed and have appointments stacking up. Hope tomorrow goes ok and the pain eases for you soon. How are the little creatures? X

No real change on anything. I'm now on the maximum dose of pregabalin. I always feel sleepy after I up the dose.
