AbbVie’s Produodopa (foslevodopa-foscarbidopa) has been accepted by the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) for use within NHS Scotland to treat advanced levodopa-responsive Parkinson’s disease (PD).
PD patients with severe motor fluctuations and hyperkinesia or dyskinesia when previous available combinations of PD medicinal products have not provided satisfactory results and who are not eligible for deep brain stimulation will be eligible for the treatment.
I do not know why any PD patient is medding around with any medication when FAST WALKING gts rid of ALL PD MOPVEMENT SYMPTOMS. I AHVE BEEN SYMPTOM-FREE SINCE 1997
I also read this article and the help it gave to one of the participants who had been dx with PD in 2004 and he has been able to go back to sports he loved and gave him a new lease of life. In fact some of the observations after using the treatment were really positive and how well he looked.
Parkinson’s U.K. also highlighted the need for more PD nurses and medical professionals that would need to be recruited in order to be able to roll out this type of treatment.
