In this pioneer study, PS128 was used as adjunct treatment for a group of twenty-five PD patients for three months. Participants continued to take their own prescribed anti-Parkinsonian medications throughout the study. Significant improvements were shown in motor symptoms and in subjective reported quality of life.

Lactobacillus plantarum PS128 is a specific strain of Lactobacillus plantarum, a bacterium of the genus Lactobacillus. It won "Probiotic Product of the Year" at the 2018 NutraingredientsAsia Awardsen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lacto...
its readily available and can be started taking right away

Thank you for this. Although my search for this PS128 strain on US Amazon failed to bring up the same product. I would imagine the probiotic should specify PS128. Not all probiotics are the same ?
Lots of products with Lactobacillus plantarum on Amazon US but none are PS128. Presumably PS128 needed.
I found this on Amazon & ordered 60 days worth. I hope it's the same thing.solaceprobiotic.com/product...
Good find. As far as I can tell you have to order direct from the vendor rather than from Amazon.
wondering if you have anything to report on Solace? My father is considering trying it...
I have ordered it too. It’s in my fridge waiting for me also!
well, my dad purchased it without talking to me and in his usual impulsive fashion is giving it a go. So I will be sure to report it once he has anything to report.
Bit more detail here:prnewswire.com/news-release...
Its basically an ad for the company. 3 month trial without placebo essentially proves nothing. No harm trying it though.

Do you know if anyone has tried this or if anyone knows much about it? It sounds promising??
No, I have not yet tried it for my mother. I just found it. Will try in another month or two. I would want to try it for at least 4-6 months at a stretch before deciding.
Please let us know about the results after use for some time. Unfortunately none of the supplier provide shipping to my country
Hi There,
Wondering if you began Solace for your mother?
Has anyone come across this?
I had contacted the main Taiwanese manufacturer about their sub-suppliers. Their reply was as under:"I’m glad to receive your email. Currently, we do not have a distributor that covers your country. PS128 is a delicate probiotic that is best kept refrigerated and shipped via cold chain, and logistically, that is quite difficult in your country. Our Singapore distributor, Multibiotics | Activhealth | Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, may be an option. Please contact them directly and see.
If there is anything else I can help with, please let me know.
Only the best,

Thank you Farooqji for this post .
here is a report on LB PS 128 by Science Direct
published Nov. 2020
sciencedirect.com/science/a...
Abstract
Evidence suggests that the Parkinson’s disease (PD) pathogenesis is strongly associated with bidirectional pathways in the microbiota-gut-brain axis (MGBA), and psychobiotics may inhibit PD progression. We previously reported that the novel psychobiotic strain, Lactobacillus plantarum PS128 (PS128), ameliorated abnormal behaviors and modulated neurotransmissions in dopaminergic pathways in rodent models. Here, we report that orally administering PS128 for 4 weeks significantly alleviated the motor deficits, elevation in corticosterone, nigrostriatal dopaminergic neuronal death, and striatal dopamine reduction in 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrathydropyridine (MPTP)-induced PD mouse models. PS128 ingestion suppressed glial cell hyperactivation and increased norepinephrine and neurotrophic factors in the striatum of the PD-model mice. PS128 administration also attenuated MPTP-induced oxidative stress and neuroinflammation in the nigrostriatal pathway. Fecal analysis showed that PS128 modulated the gut microbiota. L. plantarum abundance was significantly increased along with methionine biosynthesis-related microbial modules. PS128 also suppressed the increased family Enterobacteriaceae and lipopolysaccharide and peptidoglycan biosynthesis-related microbial modules caused by MPTP. In conclude, PS128 ingestion alleviated MPTP-induced motor deficits and neurotoxicity. PS128 supplementation inhibited neurodegenerative processes in PD-model mice and may help prevent PD.
Enjoy!
I have received mine today from Solace and will start with one per day and gradually up to 3 per day.
Keep us updated please. I have some in my fridge but haven't tried them yet. Good luck!
I will! Thank you!
I started using cinnamon a few weeks ago. I'll let you know how that works.
Great! I used it briefly and then stopped. Curious to know how you do with it.
Why are you hesitating to use it? If it doesn't benefit you, It will not harm you either
The description includes the word "psychobiotic" . That kind of scares me.
By definition Psychobiotics is a term used in preliminary research to refer to live bacteria that, when ingested in appropriate amounts, might confer a mental health benefit by affecting microbiota of the host organism.[1] Whether bacteria might play a role in the gut-brain axis is under research.en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psy....
Thanks for your help, knowledge, encouragement.About a week ago I started taking Protandim, again, (I took it a few yrs ago, but I took 1/day & now I've been taking 2/day (1 morning and 1 night). Taking 1 helped give me an overall feeling of well-being. Recently a friend talked to a lady from India in the drugstore and she was buying 1,000 mg of Ashwagandha. My friend was looking for something to help with stress so she asked the lady if it worked. The lady said yes & it also is really good for PD. My friend, which happens to be my boxing coach, was shocked because she had nothing on that would show that she was involved with any thing about PD. The lady said in India they use it a lot for PD. My coach thinks it was a "sign" for her to be there at that particular place and time. So I started taking 2 Protandim a day and I've been feeling remarkably good. I'm going to keep taking the Protandim for another week and see how I feel and at that time I will try the PS128 and I'll let you know how that goes.
BTW.... In 1 Protandim there is:
Milk thistle 225 mg
Bacopa 150 mg
Ashwagandha. 150 mg
Green tea. 75mg
Turmeric. 75 mg
Keep fighting!🥊

Please share your results on PS 128
Hi Millbrook, I just started on the following multibiotics today.. Will keep u all posted
How is it going Les? My husband is still on it. Can’t do without and he is as well as can be. Praise God!
Hi Millbrook, how long apart from food or meds or supplements before your husband takes PS128 at bedtime? And with how much water?
I have the Neuralli capsules form, 2 a day.
Hi TL. He takes it about 2-3 hours after his dinner and only with a bit of water because he has nocturia- do not know it’s due to PD or enlarged prostate. Taking prostate supplements hv helped .
Does he take it near any supplement, eg. magnesium?I usually take PS128 in the morning and magnesium both morning and night.
Now having read the study it said participants were given ps128 at bedtime, and your husband takes it at bedtime, both with good results, I want to try take it at bedtime now. Do you think it's ok to take it near or with magnesium at bedtime? Thanks
He takes his magnesium at night before bedtime also. It seems to be alright
From your list it looks like your husband takes only 200mg B1 per day?Did he have to trial and eventually came to right dose of 200mg?
We started in feb 2019 on 500 mg then after 2 weeks 750 mg then 1000 mg. At 1000 mg symptoms worsened so stopped for 3 days then cut to 500 g. His active dreams seemed to be worse when he had too much. At one point was only talking 100 mg then read a report that Art posted that said there was benefit in taking 200 mg. I then increased to 200 mg and seems to be alright there. He takes 200 mg B1 and a basic B complex which has another 100 mg B1 in it.
I bought PS128 from Solace a couple of months ago and have tried it 2 different times and after a couple of days it makes me start shaking. he shaking is more like being cold rather than a tremor. It happens about an hour before my meds are due and it lasts about 45 minutes after I take my meds. That's happened to me when I've tried other probiotics and I'm not sure why.
Protandim helps after I take it for about a week but doesn't seem to help more than 2 weeks, so I take it every once in awhile. The way it helps is it takes most of my symptoms away during my on periods and my off times are shorter and not as bad.
I know this sounds confusing but it's confusing to me also.
Unless it's some type of "placebo effect"?
So taking Protandim once in a while helps you? What is it supposed to do? Thanks
It's supposed to reduce oxidative stress andThere are 2 kinds. One is NfR2 which is what I'm taking. The ingredients are:
Turmeric Extract (Rhizome) Turmeric comes from the rhizome of a herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae. ...
Bacopa Extract (Aerial Part) ...
Ashwagandha (Herb) ...
Green Tea Extract (Leaf) ...
Milk Thistle Extract (Seed)
The other one, NfR1 which I'm thinking of trying and it has:
Acetyl L-Carnitine. An amino acid (a building block for proteins) that is naturally produced in the body. ...
Quercetin. Quercetin is a naturally occurring antioxidant, a flavonoid that is abundant in various fruits and vegetables; it is a NRF1 activator. ...
Alpha-Lipoic Acid. ...
Grape Extract. ...
Coenzyme Q10
They work together to reduce oxidative stress and reduce depression and anxiety. 🥊
Thanks laglag. I guess you know about Restore Gold? It has few of the ingredients you mentioned. I learnt about it from this forum.
It's From LAJ12345
Yes I have. That's been on my mind. I assume you are taking it and you can see a difference? Do you have to take a lot of pills? Thanks!
I don't feel it looks like placebo effect. It sounds like you are maybe more responsive to dopamine so you have less "dopa-resistant symptoms" in on times and you are less deeply off in off times, it seems to be a change on the response amplitude rather than length (time). To make the difference with dopamine synthesis you could try increasing a bit your levodopa dose.
But my interpretation is very human-centric. Biology works in very mysterious and unpredictable ways. This is why, we don't always understand.
And the shaking, could it feel like chills?
