Hello, I'll keep it short and sweet. 55 yr male. Diagnosed at 42 yr. Fitness fanatic, which has kept this damn disease at bay......for the most part. Just wondering what everyone thinks of this new Bill to End Parkinson's Act. Should we be excited, worried, indifferent? Is it gonna just be all talk and red tape or are they really gonna make an effort to fight it? Thoughts?

Sounds a good idea.In every project I've worked on there's been regular updates on progress toward the objective.

Be good if progress in big medical objectives could be similarly reported nationally. Might provide some focus.

Hi. I was diagnosed in 1992 with PD and after taking PD medication for 2 years, with no improvement I started a fast walking program, which within three years had reversed all my PD sympoms. If I stop the fast walking I slowly get worse.

I have written this story a hundred times and nobody from the medical world has come back to me for more details. I have written a book about it and have sold hundreds of thousands of copies.

I have to assume that they don't want us to get better! I have not needed any PD medication since 1997.

I have been all over the English-speaking world and to several non-English-speaking countries and demonstrated my fast walking, even to wheelchair-bound and bed-bound patients who could still stand up on their own two feet. They were all immediately able to walk normally by concentrating on their leg movements. Normally, our walking is cointrolled by our sub-conscious brain. I have been consciously walking for twenty-six years and am now 89 years old!

I have now been PD symptom-free for twenty-six years

If yo want to run with this, then be my guest!

Yes, exciting news. Hopefully people with PD can receive better care, funding for research to end Parkinson's and so much more.

I think that they don't realise that Parkinson's is intrisically linked to diet and sorting out diet would mean the end of the processed food industy so they'd face tremendous opposition.

I don’t see any downside to the bill. If it will help us get to a significant breakthrough faster let’s pass it. Just like with all the clinical trials out there of which I’m currently participating in my third trial, every bit helps.
