"Off periods"

My only symptom was lack of convergence. That means my eyes can't focus on one thing. The eyes send two images to the brain. It may have been my earliest symptom. Late in races I'd begin to see the trail in front of me and also bushes or weeds to the left of the trail. When it was bothersome my treatment was taping one eye shut.

IN time it got worse and I needed to tape one eye shut to be able to drive. As I understand it, off periods are when medication is no longer working. After 4 years on Sinemet or Rytary I'd occasionally stop the treatment.

I decided to stop Rytary two months ago. And no problems happened.. More importantly, no return of the double vision. A positive effect was a return of libido. Loss of libido was not something I thought about much. In the back of my mind I felt my age--68--could explain it and I aught to just get on with life and not dwell on it.

But returning libido couldn't be ignored.

30 years ago I would smell things that weren't real. A doctor called it olfactory hallucination. An MRI showed lesions in the area of the brain that meant MS. So I took medication for two years. The med was a weekly infusion. I knew when it was time for the infusion because the false odors would have returned one to two days prior . Ultimately the olfactory hallucinations didn't come back and I quit driving over for the weekly infusions.

I'm wondering if the same pattern is happening now. I've had other medical concerns but it's hard to connect them with the current problem. I had a DVT. I was on meds but quit them also. I had several adenomas in my liver. Surgery solved that problem. APS is a clotting disorder similar to Lupus. I used clotting drugs for years but eventually quit them.
