Good video. How he recovered.
Far as I could tell, his regime is only run/walk 3/4 mi/day and "keeps his mind happy/positive."
Seems pretty minimal to me.
I wish it were that simple.
I don't believe it.
That is a reasonable objection. Here's what has been going on with me:
I have had a bit of progression lately and realized I needed to get back to basics. That has included being more diligent with my Qigong practice, plus paying attention to keeping my emotional tone uplifted during the course of the day. These two work in synergy - Qigong is in its essence uplifting. For the moment I'm back down to my usual three doses of C/L daily instead of four, so it is working for me.
So that is why what he said resonated with me. However, it has to run much deeper than just putting on a smiley face.
You were diagnosed around 10 - 11 years ago?
I, too, have been declining faster than usual the past 6 mos. I fear 'the tipping point' theory is true.
How inspiring ✨️. I've tagged this for bad days . Thanks for posting it.
Whether he's genuine or not, I agree with the advice. Keeping the mind exercised on positive things is as important as exercise. Not least to keep your mind off PD.
Ì often pick up a book or do some easy crosswords, put headphones on and listen to music. This always lifts me
Beautiful message...yes never give up, life is beautiful, its all about cultivating your mind to remain positive☺️
How can someone be completely healed from PD? Dopamine doesn't grow back. You can increase dopamine levels through exercise.
Scientists are still looking for a cure, prevention and slow progression of the disease. Right?
Yes, don't focus on your PD. Live with Intent. Set goals to work on your symptoms - like practice your voice, do balance exercises, have joy and laughter, take your meds, read, listen to music. If you have the ability to walk fast, run, walk miles, ride a bike, boxing, pedaling - do IT - exercise is key. Keep your body and mind active and engaged.
And some days, if you have to cry, just do it and move on.
i haven't watched the video but if the claim is healing or recovery then it appears to been short lived:
Died at his home in Washington DC on November 26, 2013 from complications of Parkinson's disease.
that’s great! Very inspiring. He never says he was healed. He just says that a good attitude and being active helped him to feel better and improve some of the symptoms.
great guy. Totally agree. Attitude is everything whether you have PD or not. BTW I was diagnosed with it
