CoroNase and Coronet

my husband, Alan, has been using the CoroNase with the infrared coronet for a few weeks and, after many years, his sense of taste and smell have returned. No other change discerned yet! Very exciting though.

That’s good news Gwendolyn . Can you please specify how many sessions per week and for how long per session.? My wife has lost her sense of smell for several years now.

My husband uses the coronet with the Coronase twice daily.

He also uses their Therapad once daily. He’s been using that for months. I don’t know if that’s had any effect.

May I suggest you check his hand writing. Helped mine so much. I write normal size now

Ps. The coronet is preset. Not sure how long it lasts. Have a look on the Wellred website.

Impressive and even more so considering the relatively short use of the RLT!

Could you link to exactly what he is using? Thank you!

Great stuff Gwendoline. So good to hear there's been an improvement.

gwendolinej profile image
gwendolinej

we’ll Art, it only happened after he started using the Coronase. It’s only been a very short time. We’ve been using the coronet itself for a long time. He’s had such a hard year, I wouldn’t know if anything he uses or takes has made any difference… that is till this happened. 😊

We are about to start the B1 protocol.

I remember you have given similar feedback for many years, about your husband's use of Mannitol.

Did his sense of smell return with Mannitol then go away, and return after Coronet use?

gwendolinej profile image
gwendolinej in reply toJayPwP

no Jay, that was the one thing that was the one thing that didn’t improve with mannitol. It did help one member when he got his supply from Bulk Supplements (a particular brand). They wouldn’t supply us here in Australia. It was only when we attached the Coronase to the coronet a few weeks ago that he got his sense of taste and smell back.

That's good to hear. I'm using the red light helmet made at The Mens Shed in Tasmania and didn't think I had changed untill my wife noticed my handwriting was much bigger and readable. It had been really tiny and squashed up and looked real bad.85% improved now. I've never had good hand writing but it was never small and squashed but now normal size.I don't mind signing my name now. I used the red light treatment for at least 4-5 months before we noticed. As I had avoided writing for many years it may have improved earlier than first noticed.

gwendolinej profile image
gwendolinej in reply to20fatcats

Must check Alan’s handwriting. Catherine from Wellred mentioned earlier on that the Mens Shed coronet was underpowered. We tried it as well. In the end I decided to bite the bullet and get the Wellred one…desperation I guess. Anyway, you have that option later, if needed.

I couldn't get the men's shed to respond to me. Perhaps that's because I live in the USA and they don't ship this far away.

Hi, I also have a red light hat from Tasmanian Men’s Shed. When I used it, it would bother my eyes. Do you wear any protection or have you experienced any concerns? I really want to use it, but have read that you have to use special block/ out glasses to protect from red light. Amy info you could provide would be helpful. Carol

That’s great news to hear about your husbands sense of smell returning. Sounds like it’s the addition of the Coronase to the Coronet. For those that don’t know the Coronase is an additional part of red light therapy that clips on the Coronet, the newer models and the lights shine up the nose as well as on the head.

I keep meaning to send for the Coronase as my husband is using the Coronet and has worn his daily for a couple of years now. The programme is set for 24 minutes and you can use it once or twice a day. His sense of smell comes and goes but he often suddenly notices he can smell floral smells or smoke.

We have the therapad but I mostly use it to get relief from my arthritic hands.

what is this coronase?

if you google Wellred CoroNase you will get a good explanation. There are also some very good references on the site as well, which give detailed information into research into various methods of getting infrared light into the bottom of the brain.

Such good news! I have been using the Coronet for almost 1 1/2 years…,ever since I was diagnosed. I started the the nasal light about 6 months ago. I have not progressed since my diagnosis so I have to say it is helping. I never did loose my sense of smell. I also take 400 mg of BI hcl every other day and 125 mg of natural L dopa in the morning. Most of my symptoms have become very minimal except when I am under stress.. then they surface a bit more. I couldn’t be happier with where I’m at right. Good luck and I hope you continue to improve!!

We have a Coronet that is probably 2.5yrs old we need to sell. Wife had DBS and we don't think she should use it now. Just do not know what it would do to the wires.

gomelgo profile image
gomelgo in reply toLilliwaup

How much would you want for it and are you in the US?

Lilliwaup profile image
Lilliwaup in reply togomelgo

Yes in the US. $350 plus shipping

gwendolinej profile image
gwendolinej in reply toLilliwaup

Does your coronet take the CoroNase? The earlier ones don’t.

Lilliwaup profile image
Lilliwaup in reply togwendolinej

It is the Coronet 4, so I don't think it does

gwendolinej profile image
gwendolinej in reply togomelgo

If you might get the CoroNase, you’d need to check that Lilliwaup’s model is able to take it . He doesn’t think so, as he said. Send an email to Catherine at Wellred and ask if the Coronet 4 is compatible with the the CoroNase. Then it’s a good buy. They are very easy to deal with.

Hello Gwen, I’ve been using both the coronet and coronase for the last couple of months. I ordered each item on the basis of having watched Catherine Hamiliton’s No Silver Bullet lectures. Their dispatch to the U.K. from Tasmania was handled efficiently and personal contact from Catherine Hamilton was much appreciated. The soreness I’d been feeling in my throat settled down very soon after I began the twice daily sessions (24 mins each) but really the measure of whether it’s been worth the investment is very much about the long term. (On Catherine’s claim that some have reported that the coronet stimulates hair growth… it’s all a tad 810nm. No sign at all of the rainbow Mohican “yet”, Catherine.)

gwendolinej profile image
gwendolinej in reply toHirric

I reckon there’s been a small increase in hair. Alan doesn’t have much, so it all helps 😅
