*** I ended up with High Blood Pressure taking TTFD. I no longer take TTFD. Based on my experience, I would not recommend TTFD. ***
I am not into chemistry.
Asked another way: Did Japanese Researchers in 1951 attach a DSMO to a B1 to make it more absorbable to cure Beriberi or were they trying to duplicate what's found in garlic?
A friend had breast cancer and maxed-out on chemotherapy. So she was able to try experimental therapies. I walked into her hospital room and it smelled like I was in my veterinary clinic. My nurses called the smell, "Chinese Oyster Sauce". I don't know how much DMSO had to do with it but she's been cancer-free the past ten years.
I tried for arthritis. Like I said in the TTFD post, a drop on your toe and you could taste in your mouth. To get B1 across the BBB nothing in my opinion will beat TTFD.
on ttfd, well with two sulfur ions (disulfide) yes you are going to be smelling so bad that you probably would get kicked out of bed, you're a bit of a rotten egg... Nevertheless you're going to find that this is the compound you want rather than Benfotiamine. Nice to see that it is in a commercial product.
As to dmso, not so much. Dmso's action is mostly as a methylated solvent and will cause just about anything on the skin to be absorbed through the skin. There's very little to suggest that it's actually really safe. If you are using DMSO for some sort of joint pain or muscle pain, you are far better off to use something like Diclofenac which is for the most part available without a prescription. Yes you might feel with DMSO that it helps, but it's kind of like saying yeah I feel better when I drink alcohol, and that's true, until your liver quits.
Yesterday, I told my favorite dance partner to let me know. Last night she didn't say anything. I asked at the end of night. She replied, not that I noticed and nothing offensive. All I ready can say, Mosquitoes don't love me anymore.🙃🙂
At a medical conference we were told that DMSO is as strong an anti-inflammatory as dexamethasone, a very potent steroid. Because it is so potent many doctors don't use it. I used it mainly to treat tendinopathies in horses. What I saw was eventually horses became unmanageable-kicking and biting--when they smelled DMSO. But I found other remedies, namely Ozone, hypertonic dextrose and concentrated platelets to work as well in four-legged patients.
