Thanks for that. It makes sense. There had to be a reason for Alzheimer's being known as Type 3 diabetes. Datis Kharrazian's book on the brain talks of blood sugar dysregulation causing chronic stress in body, inhibiting blood flow to brain, reducing oxygen to the brain, sabotaging neurotransmitter function and the need to improve vagal tone for gut-brain/brain-gut communication. Dr David Unwin quotes Professor Roy Taylor concerning the 'long silent scream from the liver' (which can last 10 or 15 years) as you head for diabetes. diabetes.co.uk/in-depth/dav... As well as causing the fatty liver, unbalanced blood sugar (even quite small levels of dyfunction) seems increasingly to be considered 'foundational for health' - affects brain, gut, liver, thyroid, muscles, neuropathies....I just bought myself a glucose monitor so I can find out what is happening, although I've already made many changes so rather wish I'd had a monitor sooner. Mum died from Alzheimer's and I see now that she had considerable blood sugar issue symptoms but not identified at the time. She was gluten addicted, like me (or like I was!) Making sure that the liver is working well seems like a good plan for overall strategy, just like getting your gut as healthy as possible. Best wishes
