Homeopathic treatment
"Homeopathic" remedies are exclusively based upon the placebo effect. They are only plain water or sugar.
They work depending on the subject psyche, and only on symptoms. It is generally considered that 30% of the subjects will be sensitive to it, and will find relief, with a limited duration.
I recently read a medical article relating that, even when you know that there is no efficient molecule whatsoever in it, and even are yourself a MD... it "works" !
homeopathic remedies are prescribed based on your symptoms, but they can get to the root of the problem because they stimulate your bodys ability to heal. conventional medicines suppress symptoms in the body. homeopathy works with the bodys natural defenses. it is based on the theory of "like heals like". but unlike vaccines, in their manufacturing, they have been diluted many, many times (hence, the belief that they are only sugar & water).
i have seen dramatic effects with homeopathy. when my daughter was 2 yrs old, on her first halloween trick-or-treating, she had a bad anaphylactic reaction to the "unaccustomed" candy/suger/red dye (im not sure what). but her lips were swollen as big as an adults, her cheeks were swollen, and her eyes were almost shut. what were our options? the emergency room was 10 minutes away; they would have given her epinephrine, benadryl; we wouldve spent at least an hour at the hospital, not to mention the side effects of the drugs, the expense of the visit, and the future "fear of needles/doctors/hospitals" that my daughter has never experienced. because i gave her apis (which is "crushed bee" - like heals like). within 1 minute, the swelling started going down. within 5 minutes, the swelling was almost gone, and within 10 minutes, she was back to her old self, bouncing around the room (with the candy in the garbage). that is not a placebo effect.
my mother and i have acid reflux with certain foods. when this happens, we take a dose of natrum phosphoricum 6x (nat phos) 4 tablets under the tongue, and within 5 minutes its gone, and we can finish our meal. this is not a placebo effect. allopathic mds are not familiar with homeopathy, so they are quick to discount it. and of course, big pharma wouldnt like it - i remedy of a 6x potency of 1000 tabs costs about $12.
iqbaliqbal - what have you been taking? i have been using homeopathy for my family for many years. i have seen dramatic effects with acute conditions, it is slower with chronic conditions, but i have had improvements with it for my pd - mostly mental and emotional, but some physical.
I too have noticed the reduction in anxiety and depression but it did nothing for physical symptoms
Im doing pretty well with homeopathic. If it's a placrbo effect i dont care! Its working and long term too.
bassofspades - what are you taking and how has it helped? currently, i am taking zincum metallicum 10m & manganum aceticum 200c once a month for the general pd symptoms. and arsenicum 30c more frequently for insomnia; it has really helped with the anxiety and depression that i had last year.
isnt it funny how when a pharmaceutical drug is helping, people say what a great drug it is, but if we show improvements with homeopathy, it is only a coincidence, or our imagination.
