Parkinson's didn’t break me — it woke me up

Hi everyone,

I’m Wojtek from Warsaw, Poland. I’m 45 and I’ve been living with Parkinson’s for 9 years. At first, I was crushed. I weighed 130 kg, spent most of my time on the couch, and let the disease take control.

But one day I stood up. Literally. I started walking — first 100 meters, then 6 kilometers a day. I changed what I eat, how I breathe, how I think. I stopped waiting for miracles and became my own experiment.

I lost 50 kg. I walk 6 km in one hour — almost every day. I do yoga. Cold showers. Gym.

I have better balance, more energy, and I smile again. I wrote a book about this transformation — it’s not a miracle cure, just an honest story of how I took my life back. It’s raw, direct, and full of real-life strategies.

If you're newly diagnosed or just need hope — I’m here.

If you want to check out the book, feel free to message

Let’s fight this together. You are not alone.

– Wojtek

Thank you Wojtek. I read your table of contents and sample and was impressed. You have a very easy to read writing style.

So I went ahead and bought the Kindle version and skimmed through it all and now I am even more impressed. You cover so many issues that will be if interest to so many people, and at the same time you maintain the same message that you need to ALWAYS be doing what you can to slow down or stop this disease. There are no days off. I think you might enjoy my "Bolt's Ratchet and Pawl Theory" post: healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

I especially loved your paragraph on people needing "their system", not "your system". I found that very powerful and insightful. I hope you don't mind, I am going to share that paragraph in this post.

So well done Wojtek and welcome to the group. I think you did a great job with the book and I am happy I have it in my Kindle library now.

You might enjoy joining us on the Zoom calls MBAnderson is so nice to host. Lots of nice smart people, some who have had FUS too. You will be welcomed.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for reading my book — that truly means a lot to me.

I’m especially touched that you connected with the message about “your own system” — it’s one of the most personal things I wrote.

I’d be honored if you’d consider leaving a short review on Amazon. Honest feedback really helps the book reach others who may need it.

Thank you again — and I’ll definitely try to join the Sunday Zoom call. Looking forward to meeting more of you there!

Thanks, Mark! I hope you have an inspiring and enjoyable read.

To be honest, I wrote this book mainly for myself — I’m 45, I’ve got half my life ahead of me, and I don’t want Parkinson’s to take it away from me. I want to be happy and live life on my own terms.

If you have a moment, I’d truly appreciate a review on Amazon — it really helps!

Hi there Wojtek. I like your preamble about your story. Congratulations on your success. I agree with your strategy that you need to be your own driver for change. Very much my strategy. I’m 59 ,been 75kgs all my life. I work in a manual industry, outside and just came through an Australian summer 40c+. It’s hard but it’s a personal challenge 😃. I don’t use any support team. Indeed very few of my colleagues, family friends are aware of my PD. It’s my battle. It sounds like you’re winning your battle . As someone said that responded to a comment I had the other day, that resonates. You are having your best life. 😃. We all have access to different resources and have different expectations. We have to find our own path. Well done for writing your story. 👍👍.

Hi Possmenatt,

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. It truly means a lot. 🙏

If you're interested, here’s the full story I wrote — mostly for myself at first, as a way to cope and reflect. But now I feel ready to share it with the world:

For now, I feel like I’m winning — one day at a time.

Congratulations to you as well — what you’re doing is incredibly brave and inspiring. Keep going your way. 💪

Wishing you strength, clarity, and good health. You’re not alone in this. 🌟

All the best,

Wojtek

was really inspired to read your journey and looking forward to reading your book!

My PWP is also using supplements and exercise plus healthy diet ( she does not feel the need yet for parkymeds…)

Thank you so much! I'm really glad my story inspired you. It means a lot.

I’m happy to hear your PWP is doing well without meds for now — supplements, movement, and a good diet can go a long way.

Wishing you both strength and many calm days ahead.
