Muscle Relaxer?

I have PD and am currently taking Azilect, Ropinerole, and Carbidopa/levidopa. I am very active, but lifted a heavy object yesterday and have painful muscle spasms in my lower back. Can I take a muscle relaxer - Carisoprodol - which is leftover from a spinal fusion I had before going on PD meds?

This medicine should be used for only a short time; up to 2 or 3 weeks unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Never heard of it. Could try asking a pharmacist.

Call your pharmacist and ask them. There are several muscle relaxers that a person is NOT to take with PD meds.

I would opt for chiropractic or acupuncture before adding more medication beyond a simple aspirin or two!

And/Or stretching exercise, deep muscle, massage, physical therapy ...

The meds prescribed for my initial diagnosis of PD were Azilect and Ropinerole. After 2 years, Carbidopa/Levodopa was added. The combo is working well for me right now.
