I never had pollen allergy when I was younger but I had it in my late 20s which got worse over time. I am in Melbourne Australia which is known as the allergy capital of the world because there are so many gardens with exotic plants here. Not sure my worsening allergy is related to the type plant or grass that is being planted now or something to do with having UC. My specialist says that he sees people from Asia who get UC when in Melbourne but it clears up when they go home, he suspects there might be something in the environment causing the flare up, perhaps that something is pollen but I don't know of any research narrowing down exactly what it is i.e. which pollen
That was an interesting reply. I never had a problem with allergies before I got UC at 42. It’s just weird that my UC is only active between March and June. I am worried about sitting in my garden now which has lots of trees. I will try to experiment next spring by going away in Spring.
Any body suggest low pollen areas ?Not Iceland hate the cold
Ulcerative Colitis is an autoimmune disease so it’s likely the immune response to allergies also causes a flare at the same time rather than the actual pollen itself.
