hi, I’ve been taking Adalimumab for 2 months and feel OK and it seems to be managing my ulcerative colitis.
However, recently I’ve noticed my hair falling out !! I’m not sure if it’s the meds or general life stress!!
I hope it’s not the injections as they seem to be working (after several other steroids being unsuccessful and azathoprine causing my liver cirrhosis).
I’ve contacted my GP. Does anyone have any advice or experienced this?
Xx

Hi Bucket 13 - I haven’t been on this drug but I have UC have had lots of steroids etc and had hair loss. I have been using a rosemary extract on my scalp and my hairdresser can see tiny new hairs growing…I bought my first bottle a few months ago then realised that My daughter has a huge rosemary bush in her garden so I picked lots, simmered it for a few hours strained and bottled it. May be worth a try?
hi, I would speak to your consultant asap about this as some of these biologicals are known to cause hair loss and I read that in some it is irreversible. I was on infliximab and azathriaprine for 7 years for UC with side effects of pre cancerous skins growths which was manageable, when those drugs failed 2 years ago they changed me into validumab which is working fine but I have read that this can cause hair loss and I have noticed some some extra shedding the last few months, at the moment it's is not excessive but I do have very thick hair, and will.monitor this. But if you are experiencing alarming amounts of hair loss you need to mention it promptly. How long have you been on it, as it may settle down.
