Hi My husband has lived with ulcerative colitis for many years. He is currently experiencing a flare up and had a sigmoidoscopy today. The doctor has decided to treat this flare up with enemas containing prednisolone. Years ago my husband was treated with COLIFOAM which I understand is no longer used due the cost but there are alternative preparations.
Are any users of this forum being treated with enemas prednisolone What other preparations are available and are they available in Scotland?

I think Budesonide foam rather than Prednisolone foam is more often used these days. I've used both. Equally effective (for me). Budesonide has fewer side effects.
