Hi, I wrote last month about having calprotectin levels of 2000. I have been on pred enemas which didn’t work. Now on pendasa suppositories I think it is. 3 weeks later no better. I’m not sure if it’s worse. I see my consultant next Saturday but in the meantime wondering if there is anything diet wise that could help. Also a random one but I suffer with burning in my belly too. Anyone else? X

Check with the doc/dietician if coming off solids for a while and going onto liquids only with Ensure Plus (and others... i cant recall names), this would give your digestive system some much needed respite and time to heal.

Hi, i was diagnosed with Proctitis too snd did a 3 month course of Pentasa suppositories too, for the first 2.5 months they worked mostly a treat. Then suffered since, 2 week's after last pill im losing my mind, constantly winging and taking time off work. Only today i managed to get another course of them but was told only take in an emergency when there is blood....but thankfully ive never had bleeding. Hopefully im ok for the next month (1 box).

I don't suffer burning but i do suffer gurgling belly like a can of pop.

Ive been focusing on getting fermented foods down me.

hi 💕 I hope you’re as well as can be. I have been diagnosed with proctitis and have had it confirmed today. I also struggle with burning in my tummy too, especially bottom left side. I found that taking Pentasa suppositories stopped my symptoms quite quickly and also take octasa three times a day. Diet, I’m not sure about. Ibd nurses indicated that these symptoms can happen without diet being an issue. I do hope you’re feeling better really soon. Feeling your pain, literally 💕💕

Hello Sillysausage2. I'm curious if there's a Sillysausage1? In 2019, I went through 27 sessions of IMRT for prostate cancer which over time gave me chronic proctitis. It's not really bad but sometimes get the feeling that I need to go when I actually don't. This may sound weird to you but I experimented and found that using some plain yogurt blended in with some warm water as an enema seemed to help with the inflammation. It acts as a probiotic but gets directly to the rectum. I do also take probiotic capsules daily.
