Bi directional endoscopy

Anyone had or know anything about bi directional endoscopy. I’m booked I’m to have one tomorrow, and really nervous. I’ve tried google but nothing seems to come up, will I be put to sleep, how long does it take, will I need to take Monday off work?

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks

I've only had a colonoscopy which as I understand it is half of what you'll be having, as a bi-directional is both a Colonoscopy and an upper Endoscopy. I guess it would depend on whether you have them at the same time, but I opted not to have sedation and went with gas and air. I'm not sure what the process is for an upper endoscopy but my colonoscopy was painless, only a little uncomfortable. I'd take the day off work if I were you just in case, and definitely if you decide to have sedation. Good luck!

I was sedated and don’t remember either procedure. I would definitely take the day off of work.
