After everyone was so helpful on my last post I was hoping for a bit more help. I had a MRI done last week on my small bowel and the results were sent to my consultant the next day but I still haven't heard from him regarding a follow up appointment. Am I right in thinking this probably means the scan was clear or is it normal protocol for it to take a while for them to get in touch?
Thank you in advance ☺️

Nobody can answer that as Consultants work at their own pace, my Gastro is fairly quick but still takes a few weeks for letters to come through. You could phone his secretary for an update.
Thank you for replying I spoke to the secretary today as it's private was told 3-5 to receive results but she couldn't tell me anything as it was emailed direct to my consultant and not herself so there's nothing on her side she said she will let him know when he's back in tomorrow just incase he hasn't picked up his emails it's just me worrying but as you said it can take a few weeks to hear anything
Hi unless it was under the 2ww ( 2 week wait) it usually takes up to 4 weeks although due to the current situation with covid times may be slightly different.
Hi! Ive had a few MRI's the last few years (and with Covid19 around- i had my last MRI in Feb2020) .. i believe its all down to the surgeon you have! My surgeon usually has the results the same day usually gives me a call to tell me next steps and yes the letters take a bit longer to be recieved! I would deffo say, usually if they see a problem they notify you strait away (and hope yours is nothing to worry about) but as you are private it should be quicker!! If you do still want clarification, call your GP as they can speed up the results and usually get sent the results too!
