I’ve just been told to stop adalimumab as my reactions to it on my skin aren’t going away. Which is fine better for me as my self confidence plummeted!
My nurse has now said the next step is Vedolizumab and I was just looking for advice if anyone has been on it?? I am not to keen on going into the hospital for infusions but needs must.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi saamsaamI see your comment were written 3 months ago on going on Vedolizumab treatment and I wondered if you had started this treatment and had any results in your health as yet. I started this treatment yesterday! Thankyou
Hi! As of today I’m fully loaded! Hallelujah I don’t have an infusion for 8 weeks! I’ve seen a slight difference in my health so far I’ve had a few flares but think it’s the drugs settling in. No side effects as of yet either I don’t think I am tired a lot but it’s hard to tell if it’s my depression and anxiety or my crohns! Good luck with your treatment let me know how you get on!
Hi there,I started vedolizumab in January and it’s all going great, I feel the best I’ve felt in years. I was flaring really badly in November, blood in stools, toilet 11+ times a day, fatigue, calprotectin 2,300, weight loss etc.... you get the picture...
I was put on steroids (prednisolone) and started to feel better and then got the coronavirus!
Anyway, started infusions 7th January. Had 3 up to now and have to say, I feel amazing!!! No side effects other than a headache for a couple of days, and a little bit tired afterwards... BUT calprotectin down to 37!!!!! Never, ever since diagnosis has it ever been this.
I was scared of going on infusions but I was at the point where I had tried every other drug and they hadn’t worked.
Go for it, and give it a try... I really hope it works for you.
