Bowel disease ?

My daughter has had stomach , kidney and left sided pain for five weeks , hospital confirm ct scan clear and she has stretched bowel and impacted feaces , she is on movicol and buscopan at the moment . Today she has woke up with very painful throat neck and mouth sore especially on roof of mouth . Is this part of the condition ?? Could it be something else . She feels very weak , lightheaded and achy . Had hpv vaccine 6 weeks ago . Any help or advice would be appreciated . Hospital sent off stool sample no results yet .been referred to constipation specialist .

I would be happier if she were referred to a Gastrointestinal consultant or Gastroenterologist, so they could look at the whole picture and not just constipation. The mention of mouth ulcers has got me inclined towards IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), but without a lot more tests and examinations, one cannot guess. Please keep us posted and, if you have any further queries, I am sure, someone on this site will be able to assist.

I have come on here this morning as I have the exact problem. I am on my second course of antibiotics which do seem to clear it up a bit but it feels like it has not completely cleared it and within a week I can feel it slowly flaring back up. The GP is treating me for diverticulitis. I would be very interested how you daughter gets on as I am so fed up. The pain is excruciating

Hi , at the moment the doctor given us buscopan 8x a day , 4 movicol a day and , a stomach gastric tablet to stop the acid production , no antibiotics yet ?? We have an ultrasound soon so I will let you know if we get any answers . Daughter still in lots of pain in tummy and kidneys and sharp pain under breastbone . She is so fed up over six weeks now .

Thanks, I know how she feels. I was crying yesterday, not like me. I would just like a good nights sleep pain permitting. The gp and his 10min slot! They don’t have time to listen to you so don’t want to know about all the symptoms that you get and you have pieced together. I’m going to wright it all down in bullet point today of all my visits and symptoms from the last 2 years and go back. I think I have ulcerated colitis but heaven forbid if I make the suggestion to him despite my careful chosen words. Good luck to her with the scan.

Buscopan and movicol, should help reduce pain and move things along. Id be surprised if its down to the meds. Hopefully GI will be able to find true diagnosis and hope she is getting relief soon. Good luck

Hi my grandaughter who's 4 has had similar problems for a couple of years. Mum and dad have now taken her off movicol as they felt it was not helping. They've put her on a dairy free diet and oat milk . They have got into the routine of her going to the toilet after eating and sitting there and she normally goes to the toilet and the stool is now no longer a liquid gas explosion and is more normal. When on the movicol they found she wouldn't go to the toilet.; her tum was very bloated like she was 8 months pregnant and now it is flat and shes much happier.

We have bowel problems in my family. I have ulcerative colitis, my dad had bowel problems, my Daugther (granddaughter's mum) and one of my sons have IBS.
