Hi all,

Yesterday my husbands colonscopy went well, the doctor report that there is a patches of inflamation in terminal ileum, IC valve, and some degree of narrowing in distal ileum. Entire colon was normall including rectum.

Biospies are taken and i think doc will get back to us once the lab results are ready withing 4-6 weeks..

Nothing followup instructions are givern till the time.

Thankyou all for support and care, really appreciate this forum🙌🏻.

Hi! Hope your husband recovered well. Could you kindly tell me the symptoms your husband had related to his inflammation? Has it started suddenly? Has he had it throughout life? I mostly never had loose stools in life. I am also having pain in the ileal/cecal area that started after one month of unexplained diarrhea and pain, down for colonoscopy on Monday and scared it might be Crohn’s.

Hi,

Actually he went to gp because he was having smelly winds alot, and some constipation and diarrehea type stool, both combination. The gp suspected ibs and made him to do stool test which came high and was refered for colonscopy.

After colonscopy, gastro doc said that there is inflamation in ileum, he gave additional test to get done ,like blood test, and TPMT level test.

We have appointment on 17th feb, And will get the right answer bht i think its chrons ..

He is good now ,but he says sometimes he gets pain and the stools are also like loose one.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for the answer. I am having the colonoscopy today. This is a second one as during the 1st colonoscopy the dr could not go past a loop. And today I need to have it under general anaesthetic. My stool have been usually hard before this bout of diarrhea that started in October and ended in November. Ever since I have been having pain in the right hand side/ileum and it is also swollen right of belly button. My GP referred me to gastro because I had inflammation too, 98 calprotectin.

I hope your husband will get a proper answer and a good treatment. How much was his calprotectin when the GP referred him to gastro?
