Although unusual, it is possible. I remember, 52 years ago, a surgeon refused to accept I had Crohns, because my feet were normal size. Eventually, when they opened me up....There it was clear as day, Crohn's in the terminal ileum. Good luck and stay safe.

Hi can i ask what are your symptoms???

During the initial symptoms I suffered for diagnosis - weight loss was not a symptom.

Subsequently it has become more an issue and keeping a stable weight has become impossible - during a flare last year I dropped 10kg.

I have small bowel Crohns and weight loss has never been a symptom. I suffered from diarrhoea for five years along with extreme fatigue, joint pain and mouth ulcers. It wasn’t until I insisted someone investigate my B12 deficiency that the Crohns got found via a capsule gastroscopy. I think I didn’t loose weight as I ate calorie dense food and high sugar food to try and have enough energy to work and was lucky enough not to suffer pain with the diarrhoea. Medication has worked well for me in controlling the bowel symptoms but not so well for the fatigue and joint pain.

Hi thanks for the reply,

I feel that, I feel like sometimes my body craves sugar for energy so I can actually do stuff. Also I'm on the combined pill which is known to make people gain weight because of hormones so I'm not sure if its just cancelling any weight loss out

Did you have a surgery?

Weight loss has never been a symptom for me. If anything I've gained a little weight over the years. My Crohn's is very mild compared to most which may account for the lack of that particular symptom

Hi thanks for the reply

Yeah I feel like my problem might be on the milder end, my symptoms aren't as bad as most people but i still get concerning things like blood in the stool and stuff. hopefully will find out soon though
