hospital or urgent care?

hello i'm new to this site, but i need some opinions!!

i havn't been able to get my remicade infusions for about 3 months and i usually do them monthly. i haven't been able to get into contact with the doctor here either, so i haven't been able to make any appointments (i just switched schools so i'm still figuring everything out).

recently my condition has gotten a lot worse - whenever i have a bowel movement my pain reaches a 10 on a 1-10 scale and i occasionally get pretty bad cramps that keep me from doing anything, but i'm okay as long as i don't have a bowel movement (or eat anything which is rlly bad because i know i need to eat more).

should i go to the ER? i'm not in pain right now, but i know IT WILL get worse the next time i have to use the bathroom, so would it be better to just go to the ER or is urgent care better? i feel like they might not have anything there to help me at urgent care but also i'm not in danger of DYING so i'm not sure which is better?

thank you!

Naruboop I think if your pain is that bad you should probably go to the ER..it might be something they can help with easy. Plus being with medical staff who can do tests and monitor you will easy your anxiety.

I waited too long thinking it wasn't that bad..ended up 12 hrs later in an ambulance & it all went downhill from there. It might be due to you not being on that medication you can't get..hospital might get you back on it to stabilise things.

Anyway think about it and I hope things settle down soon for you. Don't suffer in pain, they'd rather you went to get checked out.

Wishing you well & thinking of you x

Untreated flare up can be serious so you need to be seen ASAP. I ended up with sepsis and close to perforated bowel by carrying on and not accepting a bad flare up. Look after yourself and let us now how your doing x
