Does anyone else suffer from tenesmus? Is it a common characteristic of IBD?

Not been officially diagnosed with IBD but I often get tenesmus where I feel like I cannot finish a bowel movement or need to go again right after i've been and it's very uncomfortable and I have this feeling a lot of the time. Does anyone else with IBD have this sort of symptom?

Hi, yes I do get this and it's a common symptom for anyone with inflammation in the rectum. Have you had a colonoscopy to see what's going on?

Hi I've not yet had a colonoscopy because I'm still on the waiting list ! This symptom has become more regular nowadays

update: had an ultrasound today and the consultant said there was inflammation in the ileum region so i probs got crohns

constant pain in the right side lower side of my stomach, soft stools with mucus sometimes blood but small amounts, really bad back pain when I pass a stool even though it's soft, tenesmus sometimes, lack of appetite sometimes, i've thrown up a few times and feel nauseous a lot of the time and I also fainted once

no I am due for an MRI and colonoscopy soon but due to the coronavirus it's been postponed

Have you gone for the colonoscopy? And actually what are you diagnosed with??
