Hi. I am new to this and was looking for some advice or to see if anyone else has gone through/going through the same thing? I am 32 years old and had my first baby 4 and a half months ago. Since 3 days after the birth I have been going through a flare up, using the toilet up to 7 times a day (was more than that but a course of steroids calmed things down). Are there any other mums out there that have been through this? How long did the flare up last?

Have you got crohns or uc ? I had a uc flare up with my first two, well I was in a constant flare during pregnancy and after because I wasn't under treatment then, but third baby I was under a good Gastro Con who put me on Asacol immediately after I had her and bingo no flare.

I have crohns. I was under minimal treatment and had a slight flare in my first trimester but things settled on there own but since having my son in January things show no sign of calming down yet! Am under a good gastro team now so fingers crossed

Not easy to deal with when you have a tiny person to look after, I hope you get better soon, enjoy baby and take care of yourself x

You poor thing ! I had a flare up when I stopped breastfeeding as often , not sure if you are b/f or not but found a huge hormonal influence and it got better when I had smaller feeds more often , interestingly being pregnant and breastfeeding was the only time in my life my chrohns went into remission ! If I had my way I would have breastfed for twenty years just to keep the chrohns away !

No not breastfeeding as wasn’t able too. It’s definitely a hormonal factor as had a slight flare during first trimester then things settled down. I was hoping things would settle by now.
