Hi

Thanks for adding me to your post.

I’m suffering from microscopic colitis.

I’m at a loss as to what to eat. My doctors prescribed me Octasa (mesalazine) three times a day. Had a colonoscopy and waiting to see a gastroenterologist.

I have very loose Diarrhea several times a day. Have had this since May of this year.

I’ve been a coeliac all of my 69 years and recently on dairy free diet.

Would be grateful to any advice.

Your diet must be so restrictive. Google the Specific Carbohydrate Diet as this is diet is grain free. You could also look at the Paelo Diet .

What is microscopic colitis please? I have a colonoscopy on Wednesday. Hopefully to get my diarrhea cleared up.

Microscopic colitis is an imflamation of the large intestine (colon) which

creates waterery diarrhea.

I’ve had a colonoscopy and was prescribed Budesonide for 3 months.

With that and gluten-free, dairy-free, seed & nut free diet I’m almost back

to normal.

Good luck.

Is it permanent? I have not been diagnosed yet. I will have my colonoscopy Wednesday. My ct scan showed mild colitis in my colon. I have autoimmune hepatitis and pbc. So we are hoping that I don’t have a third autoimmune. I have been taking prednisone for two years and azathioprine for a year and a half. I have my prednisone down to 5 mgs. I was supposed to taper again but I got hit with this lose stool/diarrhea for over a month now. I don’t have blood but the ct scan showed mild colitis. How many mgs of prednisone are you taking

What is pbc?

I was on 5mgs.

You sound like you have a few problems. Are you careful what you eat?

Pbc is primary biliary cholengitis. It’s when my immune system tries to attack my bile ducts. Why aren’t you taking prednisone?

I seem fine doing what I’m doing. I check in with the specialist this Thursday.
