So about 3 years now on and off I have been bleeding when I have gone for a poo. I haven't been straining when I have been bleeding
Few weeks ago there was about 3 times more blood this time and now on my lower left side of my belly and side is pretty sore and just getting worse each day.
I have seen my GP, blood test fine, asked to bring in a photo of my stool, he seemed concerned and start talking about hospital tests and camera going up by bum, but then check the criteria for that and said because I am 27 I am not in the age group and then just put me on antibiotics, what should I do, just go along with it and see or see someone else as my friend thinks I should? Thank you.

I would definitely see someone else! That amount of blood needs investigating - at least a stool sample and preferably a colonoscopy. Gastro diseases can be identified at any age. Hope you get some answers soon!
Hi sorry for the delay in replying. You should certainly seek a second opinion. My son has been bleeding and have had a number of problems over the last twelve months. He was at first being treated for piles, it was the pharmacist who insisted he get a second opinion. My son is 35 years old and has just been diagnosed with chrohns disease.
They should not be fobbing you off because of age, bleeding is usually a big red flag and seems to spur docs into action. It seems like this guy is more concerned about following a one size fits all guideline than getting you checked out. Definitely see someone else and express how worried you are.
