Yes, they may have taken a biopsy, or even scraped the lining inside the bowel. It should stop bleeding in a couple of days, if not, contact your GP or GI team.

You don"t always bleed with hemorrhoids, sometimes they are just there and cause annoyance. If the bleeding is fairly light, contact your GP on Wednesday or Thursday, if you are still bleeding.

Just to confirm the information they have given you, and also to make sure there is no infection.

Hi just keep monitoring yourself and if the bleeding gets worse or you start to feel ill then phone the doctor or go to the hospital. Biopsies are just to make sure their diagnosis is correct and no other underlying things going on. I've had them taken . I too have haemorrhoids which barely flare up and are more extremely sore than have bleeding from them. x Anita

that’s what I’ve been doing i bled a little the day they did it but yesterday was little more, but i will definitely keep an eye on it ! So you don’t always bleed with hemorrhoids ?

Yes I always bleed after they have taken biopsies ,just keep an eye on it because last time I had a colonoscopy they removed a big polyp which they put a clip on but it fell off. I started experiencing very bad stomach ache right from that night, I should have known something was wrong because you always have a bit of a tummy ache after but this was much worse, then I started bleeding loads, and I mean loads, I rang 111 they sent an ambulance and I spent the next four days in hospital while they got the bleeding under control, but that is rare, it's the first time anything like that has happened In the 30 years of having ulcerative colitis
