Hi,

Has anyone heard of using psyllium husks as a treatment aid to battling colitis flare ups?

I have been suggested to give these a try by a friend and was just curious to know if anyone else has heard of this?

Thanks,

George

Who suggested this to you ? psylium is a type of fibre and works as a laxative so unless your constipated I would stay well clear. Also it is best to avoid fibre during a flare as the bowel has to work harder.

I tried it as it’s supposed to bulk. Used it not long after surgery but it just gave me awful stomach ache. So it entered the bin with lots of others!
