Hello from Canada, indeed North America has highest rates and rising of diagnosed Crohns and Colitis.
I can't offer you any advice on how to speak to a North American doctor from Pakistan, I imagine your own doctor would have to make inquiries on your behalf. In order to speak to a specialist Gastrentrologist I needed to have a referral from my primary care physician or family doctor. We can not just go see a specialist here. It could be different in the USA which is where you were inquiring about.
Canada has the exact same treatments as the USA, most of our drugs in Canada come from huge US pharmaceutical companies.
Our usual treatments include steroids - prednisone or something similar, sometimes this is only used for bad flares and for others like myself it is daily maintenance. Many are prescribed biologic drugs such as Remicade infusions or Humira injections. I take the biologic Enbrel for my Rheumatoid Arthritis, but this particular biologic does not help Crohns.
I'm scheduled for an MRI in November and the outcome will determine whether I have surgury to repair a very bad stricture or if I will be put on Remacade infusions. The good thing about the Remicade is it is a biologic that will not only treat my Crohns but my RA too.
You may want to research diet, as I believe this can play a big role for managing symptoms in some people. It may not cure the disease but anything that eases the symptoms is helpful.
I had to change my whole lifestyle. I only eat meat protein ( chicken and fish) and some fruits and some vegetables. It's not easy staying disciplined but if I go off this I pay the price.
Everyone is very different as to what foods are tolerable, and same goes for medications, everyone seems to have different treatments. I don't know any Canadian doctors who would give you advice without actually seeing you, and you being a patient in their care.
Wish I could be more helpful. I believe all medications should be available to everyone.
Hi usma, if you have an Instagram account go onto our life with Crohn's. There are many people on there from America and it's a great supportive community I also go on there too. Youl get responses on there from people that will be able to help you. Good luck 💜
