Hi yes I feel exactly the same. I find if I eat as blandly as possible, no alcohol, not too much veg, no nuts or very fibrous stuff etc I feel a bit better. I tend to eat white bread, crackers, crisps, chocolate as a treat, white pasta and rice and drink mainly squash, this keeps me so that I am on a good day only "ill" first thing in the morning. I am also taking four 800mg messalazine tablets daily (not sure if they are doing a lot tho). It's so hard at times still, I dread long journeys and going places new in case I suddenly need the loo. I work in a school with a little autistic child and had to do a school trip the other day and I spent the whole time worrying. I barely ate the day before cos I figured that if there was nothing in my tummy there would be nothing to come out lol! Anyway good luck, it's such a tough illness cos it's not one you can see and not one you particularly want to talk about. Gill 😊

Hi, I was diagnosed with Colitis in the 1990's and have found Holland & Barrett Charcoal Capsules helps with bloating.

Hope this helps...

Thank you I really appreciate the advice. Drs really don't seem to appreciate how difficult life becomes dealing with this illness, when you have a husband, kids and a job to deal with too. I will certainly try the water and tablets, like you say I have nothing to lose. Hope you stay well 😀😀

Sounds as if you may have low stomach acid - we need good levels of acid to break down the food in our stomach inyo smaller molecules for the onward journey into the duodenum.

There is a home test you can do to check this out ....
