HI ALL
Did anyone catch the marathon today??!!
What an inspiring sight!!
Anyone fancy doing it next year??
Lovely idea ... but I haven't yet graduated (planning that for next week) LOL All the best... let us know your number and we'll all cheer you on next year! Linda x
I've fancied doing it since I watched the first one all those years ago. And I'm still sitting on the couch watching it all these years later...!!
It would be great if you did decide to do it - I'm sure we'd all cheer you on!
I was going to watch it, as I thought it would mean more to me now I've done a bit of running myself, but was at a relative's and a different channel was chosen, so missed it. So I'm looking forward to searching for the panto horse next year!!!!
I would love to... I hopefully graduate this week- 2 more runs but can't imagine covering all those miles. But what an achievement to do it... One for the bucket list!!
im thinking of applying mmmmm!! LOL
Go for it, I think you should, in fact I think I should too ( a friend and I have been discussing this at length, how sad!). Anyway we thought it would be fun to do the one in Paris too- you get to see all the sights....how amazing would that be? Or what about something like,' around the world in 80 marathons'....now that would be amazing! Cheers, Julia
youve persuaded me JUlia
Im going to apply

Hi
I was just about to write my own blog with exactly the same idea! I went to watch it in person today for the first time ever and was blown away by the atmosphere. A friend of mine was running and when I spotted her, the lovely group of people next to me helped cheer her too. My friend ran over and was so emotional she burst into tears and was crying that she couldn't do it (think she had hit "the wall"). I was then crying and encouraging her and the woman next to me from this group starts crying too! It's such an emotional thing with all those people running for such good causes. It has really made me think that I would love to do it although am obviously scared too and unsure if I could do it seeing as I haven't graduated yet.
So the answer is yes I'm up for it! Just need to try and stop thinking of reasons why I couldn't do it
I'd love to, but it is 42K!
I graduated back in November and right now can only run for 45 minutes! Am currently on the B210K plan.
According to the London Marathon website in my condition (considered pretty fit) I would need a year or possibly more in order to train.
On the other hand, I could always walk it in 5+ hours!
Go for it, Gra! I'll keep all these multi-coloured pom-poms from 5x50 and come and cheer you on
I always watched and thought I'd love to run the marathon - then I worked itabout 18 years ago, near the end and had to deal with people collapsing; saw bleeding and other bodily functions that runners had no idea were escaping so that put me off, and I was at my fittest ever then (running between 3 and 5 miles 3 times a week!)
But now 18 years later as a C25K graduate I watched this year from a totally different perspective - very emotional and wishing I had done it years ago! I think I am now too old, overweight and creaky, but never say never! Never as the back end of a horse/cow/camel/rhino though!
I know what you feel like..... im 55 now and these legs,.....well !!!
LOL
