Taking it VERY slowly

Just a quick introduction, I am Helen (37) and I am doing the Cto5K with my mum and 11 year old son Oliver, however we are taking it very slowly, and with Oliver only being 11, still busy at school and doing 2 other activities a week we are doing it a bit differently, we have been doing it for 6 weeks now, but only once a week instead of 3 times, so it has taken us 3 weeks to do week one 3 times and 3 weeks to do week 2 3 times (if you get that!).

We completed our session last night, we ran the streets as it is getting lighter and we have a great main road to run on, we are doing ok, Oliver is enjoying it, and doing it our way is taking some dedication, so to do it properly, I take my hat off to you.

Welcome to all three of you :) This is the most supportive forum on the Internet, so check in regularly and let us know how things are going. Loads of good advice here too about absolutely every stage of the programme and aspects of running. Congratulations on making this amazing joint decision to get yourselves fitter and active! Lots of luck to you all. Linda :D

Welcome, and best wishes to the three of you. Any way of doing this is 'proper' if it gets you active! Though I think I'd have found it harder to do it just once a week (once I'd got going, I found it hard to stop myself going out every day!), so good for you. :)

Hiya to all three of you! What a lovely family affair you're making this journey :-)

Who cares if you're not doing it exactly! It's got you out and running! Who cares how long it takes you, you 'll get there when you're ready.

Although you three are running buddies, don't forget to keep us all updated as to how you're getting on.

Keep running and best of luck

Ali :-)
