I haven't run for a week after last Sunday's 5k resulted in an asthma debacle.
So today I set out to test my lungs with a short 2 miler. I survived. Lungs braved the subzero temperature and didn't seize-up. It was very slow, but my bronchial tubes are intact

Nothing short about 2 miles was my first thought too!! Amazing how our outlook changes, remember looking on 3 mins with trepidation now 2 miles is a test run. Glad you are back out there.
Interested to hear about your asthma relapse but very glad you've conquered it again! I only developed asthma a few years ago after getting pulmonary thrombosis and then had a winter of chronic bronchitis. I am determined to make my lungs fitter again and I was getting thrilled that I hadn't needed an inhaler for about a month now! I really know C25K is getting me there Then I tried a second 8 minute run on Friday (W5R2) and my lungs just seemed to forget how they should work. I assumed that the bitterly cold air had something to do with it, so am hoping that another go tomorrow with scarf if necessary will do the trick! Just wanted to say how much the blogs of all you clever graduates are inspiring us newbies ... Many, many thanks and congrats on battling those miles Linda X
This running is hard enough without the added difficulties of asthma, I to developed asthma late in life, I had chicken pox with my children a few years back and apparently most of my spots were internal causing damage to my lungs!!
I know how hard it is many times I've thought this isn't for me, my lungs are not cut out for this hobby, but I really think its helped I'm definitely breathing better.
So well done Sian, well done for getting back out after what sounds a bad attack it would have been so easy to put it off and off....
